.NET Cameroon

The Problem

When I started my journey with .NET in Cameroon, I quickly realized there was no local community for .NET developers. Finding peers to exchange ideas with, getting help with .NET-specific challenges, or even discovering local job opportunities in the .NET ecosystem was nearly impossible. The global .NET community was thriving, but Cameroon was disconnected from it.

The Vision

I founded .NET Cameroon with a simple goal: create a space where .NET developers in Cameroon can connect, learn, and grow together. The platform needed to be more than just a website — it had to be a living community hub.

How It Works

The platform is built with Blazor SSR and Tailwind CSS, keeping the stack within the .NET ecosystem we advocate for. Key features include:

• Community Forums — (WhatsApp, Discord) A space for developers to ask questions, share solutions, and discuss .NET topics
• Event Management — Tools to organize and promote meetups, workshops, and conferences
• Job Board — Local opportunities specifically for .NET developers

Growing the Community

Building a tech community from scratch in a region with limited .NET presence required a hands-on approach. We started with small meetups, gradually building trust and momentum. Each event brought new members, and word of mouth did the rest.

Today, the community has grown to over 100 active developers, and we have successfully organized multiple events including local editions of .NET Conf and technical workshops.
